Currently working on an eclectic mix of projects, both print and web, for a number of clients ranging from large corporations, government projects, associations and smaller businesses. I’m involved in all stages of design, from client meetings, to early design stages and conceptualization, to refining and fine tuning work, doing production work, and quality assurance. I do most of the design work drawing inspiration from current trends and other sources, while overseeing a team of contractors that include HTML programmers, copyrighters and photographers.

Worked in the marketing division under the supervision of the marketing managers to support all marketing efforts for the company. Lending my expertise and savvy to support all collateral efforts for trade shows, advertising, direct mail, conferences, education, the sales teams, and worked very closely with the e-marketing team to assure a consistent brand across the broad spectrum of Hanley Wood’s communication needs. Worked in a fast-paced environment meeting deadlines and expectations consistently, effectively communicating goals and being a team player.
Senior Designer and Project Developer
R+B Design Firm, Gaithersburg, MD
January 2004 – December 2004
Primary responsibilities were to design and manage production of corporate identity packages, promotional materials including logos, letterhead suites, capability brochures, and annual reports for various types of businesses and organizations, as well as extensive publication work. This encompassed concepting design strategy and layout, fostering client relationships and communication, establishing vendor relationships, print specifications and schedules, and securing printing cost estimates. Supervised the completion of edits and design modifications, pre-print production of digital files, blueline and color proof reviews, and on-site press inspections. In conjunction with Art Director, supervised design and production team consisting of 10 people. Work included several GSA projects, most importantly the US Navy’s flagship publication; All Hands.
National Association of Credit Management, Columbia, MD

Worked from concept to completion on all collateral material for the association. Also split schedule on work for the magazine published once a month. Increased productivity and time efficiency by designing a new template for the magazine, including master pages and style sheets for the different editorial sections of the 72 page magazine. Performed numerous press inspections at different locations to assure quality of print jobs.

Worked on multiple newsletters, brochures and posters under the supervision of the senior designer. Also created artwork to enhance PowerPoint presentations for business proposals. Assisted graphics team in varied projects, including packaging. Responsible for various administrative duties.

1992 – 2001
Swam professionally for a decade representing Spain at the Olympic, World and European level. Managed to be a finalist at the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games. Bronze medal winner at the 1999 World Championships in Hong Kong, China, two-time World Cup gold medal winner, double European Champion and three-time US Open Champion. Trained seven days a week for seven and a half hours a day. Was highly committed and motivated to reach my goals.
